Trust strategy 2018-21 cover image

Derbyshire Healthcare strategy 2018-21

Our strategy has been developed to meet the needs of our service users and to help staff understand their role in achieving the vision. It sets out the direction of travel for Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust within the context of the wider health and care agenda, both nationally and locally.

The strategy aims to provide a clear and concise vision for the future in order to deliver a “…proactive and preventative approach to reduce the long-term impact for people experiencing mental health problems and for their families, and to reduce costs for the NHS and emergency services” (Five-year forward view for Mental Health - February 2016, NHS England).

This strategy also outlines our plans for what we need to do to ensure that our vision is realised for the benefit of our service users.

Also see our Quality Improvement Strategy.

Our policy on patients who do not attend or were not brought (in the case of children) to outpatient appointments is shown here. The policy outlines the process staff should follow when a patient does not attend an appointment in order safely to manage any clinical or safeguarding risks. It is not the policy of the Trust automatically to discharge patients back to their GP should they fail to attend an appointment.
